Become an RA?

It is that time of year when the application to become a Resident Assistant (RA) is released. RA Information Sessions will be hosted in the central lobby of each dormitory on campus at varying times throughout the next several weeks.

Pace strongly encourages any student interested in this position to attend an informational session to understand what being an RA entails from the application process, the interviews and what occurs when you are selected.

The minimum requirements for being an RA include: being a full time student for the upcoming school year, have a 2.5 GPA, not be on disciplinary probation when offered the position, must be willing and able to serve as an RA for an entire academic year. Serving for an entire year does include attending training sessions weeks before the school year begins for the Pace community, staying longer once dorms close for Christmas break, being on duty for an entire weekend here and there where you will be on call around the clock from Friday night to Sunday evening.

RA applications are due via OrgSync Sunday, December 4th, at 5:00pm. The basics of the application include an up-to-date resume, essay questions and references. In Mid-January RAAP weekend takes place where possible candidates schedule an individual interview with a Resident Director (RD) and an RA for 30-45 minute periods. Following this there will be a Group Process interview on Sunday which is about 4-5 hours long.

In March, RA offers are sent out and candidates are notified if they have been offered the position, and then they must accept or deny the offer.
