Pride Hoops

Pace Athletics is hosting the LGBTQ Pride Hoops Night for the men and women’s basketball games on December 7, 2016. Both teams will be competing against Southern Connecticut State University at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The women’s game will commence at 5:30pm and the men’s game at 7:30pm.

The first 300 attendees whether they are students, faculty, staff, family or from the local community will receive a special edition Pride Hoops Night t-shirt. This shirt will have a rainbow Pace logo on the front of it so everyone can show their spirit.

A percentage of the tickets will be donated to the Center Lane LGBTQ Youth and Community Education Center of Westchester. This is Westchester County’s online lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and community education center.

In addition to the festive t-shirts, at half-time there will be a drag show and a special community service award presented to Anthony Nicodemo. Nicodemo graduated in 2005 from Pace, and has been an active supporter of LGBTQ efforts,  and he dedicates his time to “promoting a culture of acceptance and understanding.”

The tickets are free for students who present their Pace ID card. It will be $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for non-Pace students.

Also, the women and men’s basketball teams next game will be Saturday, December 10 in the Goldstein Fitness Center at 1:30pm and 3:30pm, respectively.
